Natalie HennesseyDay 23 of the Ultimate Blog Challenge – my theme for this month is gratitude for the special people in my life.

Natalie – I am gr8ful for you

Natalie, your vision and dreams are incredibly inspiring to me, you sure are a Spirited Woman! I am grateful for your serene energy and I love that you’re so comfortable in your own skin, you know yourself so well – that’s something I aspire to. There’s a beautiful feminine strength to you, you are a leader of women and a true Goddess. I got to know you better last year when I was part of your Circle group, what an amazing sacred space you created for six of us, where we meditated, talked, laughed and cried once a month for six months. It was truly a beautiful experience and you gave so much to each of us. I am grateful I can call you my friend, beautiful Goddess Warrior. Thank you Natalie for the love you give.

Day 22 of the Ultimate Blog Challenge – my theme for this month is gratitude for the special people in my life.

Judy – I am gr8ful for you

Judy is an angel! Every fortnight for the last six weeks, Judy’s been arriving at my door, all dressed in white with her blue eyes sparkling. She comes with a mop in one hand and a bucket in the other. Judy is my cleaning lady, and I am SO grateful for her!  I’ve never had a cleaning lady before and I used to wonder how I’d feel about someone in my home, cleaning up our stuff; I thought it might be embarrassing, but Judy is so sweet. I am grateful that Judy is very fussy and likes to clean things with gumption and a toothbrush (not my toothbrush!). She’s particularly good at mirrors and glass.  She’s old-fashioned, she loves a chat, and she’s not afraid of a bit of hard work (yes, sadly it is hard work, I’ve neglected my domestic duties for far too long). Thank you Judy, I just love coming home to a sparkling clean house, it’s taken so much pressure off and you’re worth your weight in gold!

Andy GilliesDay 21 of the Ultimate Blog Challenge – my theme for this month is gratitude for the special people in my life.

Andrew – I am gr8ful for you

My little brother, what a thoughtful sweet guy you are. Do you remember when us girls used to dress you in our dolls clothes, make hair braids out of pantyhose and plant them firmly on your head? Then we’d squeeze you into a dolls stroller and push you around the neighbourhood. I wonder if we secretly wanted another sister? You were always baby Jesus in our Christmas plays too. You’re 10 years younger than me and growing up our worlds were a decade apart. You are the apple of Dad’s eye, his only son, and you’ve done him proud! I am grateful you’re my brother, I’m grateful that you have a heart of gold and you really value your family. I’m grateful that you took special leave from your army post in Timor to be here with me for my 50th birthday recently, when you didn’t even manage that for your own 40th! I’m not sure that I’m grateful that you surprised the daylights out of me and I nearly had a heart attack when you walked in the door, not to mention the shock you gave mum and dad, but I am so grateful that you were here, it made our family complete and meant the world to all of us. Thank you Little Bro, you’re awesome. I love you x

RaymaDay 20 of the Ultimate Blog Challenge – my theme for this month is gratitude for the special people in my life.

Rayma – I am gr8ful for you

Oh Rayma, what a delightful soul you are! You seem to live in a world filled with pixies and fairies, you are so child-like and the MOST amazing artist I’ve ever met! Your art is so full of the whimsical, wonderful creatures of your imagination. I’ve never met an imagination like yours, you are just gorgeous! I am grateful that I know you and I get to hang out with you at art class every week. I love the way you lust over food, how everything in your world is so deliriously delicious. I love that you see beauty in everything, the way you talk about little fluffy chickens, and cute puppy dogs that lick your face and the warmth of the sun on your back. The passion you have for your art is exquisite, you put your heart and soul into your creations and they come alive! Oh Rayma, you’re one in a million, you light up a room and you light up my life. I am so grateful I found you.

Sally – I am gr8ful for you

Sisters. Friends. Soul Sisters… that’s us. Have you ever had someone in your life who is so close to your heart they feel like part of your soul? Is there someone you intuitively connect with no matter how far apart you are? My sister, you are all that and more to me. Sally, you have a beautiful gift and an aura of love that surrounds you. Your heart is so kind, your actions always thoughtful and your words have meaning. I am grateful that you’re my sister and my soul mate. I am grateful that we get to have so much time together and that you’re only an hour away. I love that we can talk for hours on the phone, share a laugh (you are so very funny) and be there for each other when things are tough. You’re the first person I want to talk to when something wonderful happens, or when something not so wonderful happens. Thank you for being a major part of my life. Thank you for guiding me, for being my cheer squad and always having time for me, no matter what or where you are. I look forward to growing old with you, being outrageous, flamboyant and care-free and travelling the world with you, laughing all the way there and back, passport in one hand, champagne in the other! Love you forever, my sister, my friend, my soul mate x

DianneDay 18 of the Ultimate Blog Challenge – my theme for this month is gratitude for the special people in my life.

Dianne – I am gr8ful for you

Colourful, vibrant, and joyous. That’s how I describe you Dianne. Gosh, remember when we first met? You had a dream, a lifelong dream, to follow your passion for colour and create a business out of colour therapy and light healing. I’d never heard of those things, I was intrigued! Thanks for the tip about orange undies – I call them my ‘happy pants’! I am grateful for your smile, you just beam happiness, it surrounds you like a beacon. I’m grateful that you trusted me to create your branding and logo and I’m grateful for the journey we’ve been on as Koru Colours has grown. It just goes to show that if you have passion and lots of determination, anything is possible. How amazing you are! I’m so grateful that you’re my friend, for the joy you bring and the songs you sing. Thank you for being in my life, gorgeous Goddess x

My mumDay 17 of the Ultimate Blog Challenge – my theme for this month is gratitude for the special people in my life.

Mum – I am gr8ful for you

My beautiful dignified Mum – what an inspiration you’ve been to me. What courage and determination you’ve shown over the years. I remember you as a young mum, you were full of life and laughter, full of energy and exuberance for life, off playing tennis, dancing, dinner parties, running tuckshop, helping out at the church and working part time. You were always there for the four of us and the best part of my day was coming home after school to a cup of tea and freshly made biscuits. Then, out of the blue, a brain aneurism struck you down at age 42. It was heart-breaking to watch your exuberance drain away like a vague memory, all your hopes and dreams vanished. We lost some of you that day, some of the sparkle in your eyes, yet in its place emerged a strong quiet determined woman who wouldn’t give up. I am grateful that you chose to stay and watch us grow up, I’m grateful for your wisdom, your dignity and your unwavering love. I’m so grateful that you’re still here and that we’ll be celebrating your 80th birthday this year. What a beautiful blessing, what a beautiful mum. Love you with all my heart Mum x

Thank you for being a wonderful designer and teacher – look at us now! I am grateful for your enthusiasm and the happiness that’s always in your voice and your emails. Carren – I am gr8ful for you

Carren you have been blessed with an amazing inspirational gift and I am blessed to know and love you. At a time when I was looking for answers, you turned up like a fairy godmother! Completing your seminars was one of the smartest things I’ve ever done (maybe not so smart when I sang ‘Dancing Queen’ on stage – but hey, that was a moment to remember!), I found my voice on so many levels and changed my life direction. I am grateful for the confidence that your mentoring gave me to start my own business, I am grateful for your faith and encouragement in me to be bigger, better and stronger and most of all I am grateful and blessed to have your friendship. Thank you Carren – with volitionicity! Has Carren had an impact on your life too? Here’s the perfect place to tell her – just reply below!

Jody – I am gr8ful for you

Jody you’re just gorgeous! We’ve known each other for a really long time, 25 years at least! I met you when you were just a little girl, my little step-daughter. It’s thanks to you there’s a pile of peas under our old house (you can’t trick me, I knew you were poking them through that hole in the floor instead of eating them every night!!). I am grateful for your insight, your non-judgemental ways and the calmness that surrounds you, your beautiful aura. I’m grateful for our friendship and the trust we’ve created over time, it just gets better as we both get older. I am grateful for your two beautiful baby boys with their huge brown mischievous eyes, I am grateful that you are in my life. Happy birthday wishes to you for yesterday Jody, may your life be filled with contentment, love and joy. Love you x
